[sdpd] CPD-organized structure accuracy & validation workshop at EPDIC

For those who may have missed earlier announcements, the Commission for Powder Diffraction is organizing its first workshop in many years as a satellite to EPDIC in October, entitled &quot;Accuracy of crystal structures obtained from powder diffraction data&quot;.<br>
<br>
For a subject that is very important to SDPD being taken seriously by the wider community, I'm disappointed to say the response in terms of abstract submission has been very underwhelming. However, given the possibility that people may have missed the previous announcement and or didn't click the link on the EPDIC webpage here is a final plug....<br>
<br>
Should there be insufficient interest we will be forced to cancel this workshop. Given the efforts of the organizers in overcoming a number of obstacles, a cancellation will likely torpedo the chances of any further CPD-organized meetings in the forseeable future.<br>
<br>
Consequently I would encourage anyone attending EPDIC to consider starting their trip a couple of days early, submitting an abstract and attending the workshop..<br>
For those concerned about costs, registration is 80 Euros.<br>
