Very basic question
1) How can instrumental broadning be determined.
what we have been taught is take a full scan of silicon standard from 25 to
130 degrees and process it for k alpha1 and k alpha 2 followed by bacground
elemination and then plotting FWHM vs 2theta and make a linear fit to get a
intercept on FWHM and mark it as Instrumental broadning
Problem
it is not consist and keeps on changing every time.
i have heard about another method which uses fwhm of LaB6.
Waiting for comments and suggestion.
