A quick opinion...

It's not the GUI as such that makes the difference.
It's making the program easy to use (generally 
implying a GUI nowadays) and making it robust enough
for general use.  With today's "download" culture,
it's all to easy to try a program, and if it does not
work first time, dismiss it.  

In common with Holger, we're sitting on a back catalogue
of solved structures that will soon bump up the numbers.
Why are they not written up yet ?  Largely, 'cause we're
awful at writing up.........
