Rietveld refinements with Scintag XDS2000

Thanks to all who responded to my query about problems refining the NIST1976
sintered alumina SRM to a respectable Rwp. Several people suggested that I needed
to take preferred orientation into account--but, of course, I had already done that.
It was at least comforting to learn that the March-Dollase ratio I had obtained
agreed with the results of others. I had also already corrected for nonlinearity in
the detector. The general drift of the advice seemed to be, "Don't use NIST1976 to
test Rietveld refinement--it isn't very good for that."
