You will be an experienced and creative scientist who will manage and
develop a variety of powder and single-crystal X-ray diffraction equipment
used for the identification,structural characterisation and quantification of
minerals and other materials in rocks,meteorites,environmental samples etc.
These facilities support a wide range of research and consultancy activities
and provide information for collections management.
You will be experienced in the operation and development of X-ray
diffraction instruments and,preferably,will have undertaken research using
such equipment as a postgraduate.You will have good knowledge of the
safe operation of these instruments.Ideally you will have managed a
laboratory with multiple users and/or commercial clients.
