[sdpd] Image plate

Can anybody, from his own (good) experience, suggest a program package,
preferably multy-platform oriented, for 3D (so, not 2D + colour!)
visualizing of very big pictures? The data are from image plate scanner,
3450x3450 pixels (=11902500), intensity of each up to 16384 (2^14).
Mathematica-like things ruled out already.

Has anybody used PVWave for such purpose?
