You will find a lot of comparisons at the following Web page,
including data from systems equipped with Peltier cooled analyser :
http://www.cristal.org/powdif/low_fwhm_and_rp.html
You may also have a look at quite recent data from the
Davor Balzar Size Strain Round Robin. The CeO2 annealed
sample with very sharp lines is studied by many systems
including conventional X-ray (with primary beam monochromator
or with diffracted beam monochromator), neutrons, and also
synchrotron X-ray (2nd and third generation) :
http://www.boulder.nist.gov/div853/balzar/ or from the European
CCP14 mirror at :
http://www.ccp14.ac.uk/ccp/web-mirrors/balzar/div853/balzar/
Of course, the third generation synchrotron is the winner... if you
can decide Fidel Castro to make build one ;-).
