But I can name you another 20 reasons why the generator could'n be turned
on (actually just HV). At that time I seriously feared major generator 
failure and it took me some time to find the real cause. I guess someone 
with little experience  facing such a situation immediately calls for the 
serviceman. Broken security circuits should give a clear warning rather than
quietly switch the equipement off. I suspect that Siemens do it for purely
commercial reasons (work for their serviceman). How about other 
manufacturers?
