Recently we had the opportunity to use a SIEMENS D5000
powder diffractometer, equipped with a PSD. Our first
experiment leads to a disappointing FWHM (0.20), this is
higher than that obtained from a old Philips diffractometer.
The sample seems to be pure and with a high crystallinity.
My question is forward to those that work in ab-initio deter-
mination and Rietveld methods using this diffractometer.
What are the ideal conditions of measure in order to achieve
the higher resolution?, Is better don't use PSD?.
