Dear members of this IUCR-ComputerCommission mailing list,

Welcome to all elected as member of this commission.

** Please send a message to this list (COMPCOMM-L@iucr.org) to see whether
   everything works for you.

We are expected to be very active.

Our long term task will be to arrange for a number of interesting computing
related micro-symposia at the next IUCr meeting in Florence 2005. 
 
In addition, we should try hard to get a pre-conference crystallographic
computing school organized. Such a school should be attractive for both 
small molecule and macromolecule crystallographers. A realistic program
could involve two parallel streams of lectures (small molecule & macro
respectively) + a number of planary lectures of general interest.

Please feel free to react on the above and with ideas on issues we can
address the coming three years.
